We, the Pastorelle Sisters in Taiwan, incessantly serve the people entrusted to us by the Good Shepherd to tend in his name. Though there has been a huge necessity set before us for the people of Taiwan yet with our limited ability and humble presence we give the best we can in overseeing and accompanying the flock of God in the ministry assigned to us.

Sr. Jessica Aglavia, had just finished a year of study in Rome, was back to Taiwan in July and reassumed her ministry in Taiwan Catholic Regional Seminary and now taking in charge of the implementation of the Vocation Ministry Programs of the Archdiocese. She has been closely accompanying some seminarians in their Spiritual Pastoral Formation Year in the Philippines. Sr. Marnie Cabiles, is completing her two-year course in Mandarin at the Providence University in Taichung.  Hopefully, when she finishes, Sr. Marnie will have the opportunity to share in the apostolic involvement of the Pastorelle Sisters in the Archdiocese. As of now, while finishing her course, Sr. Marnie assists in the Campus Ministry at the Providence University. Sr. Celia Santiago is doing pastoral ministry for the Filipino communities in two separate dioceses, Luzhou Community in the Archdiocese of Taipei and Nankan Community in Hsinchu Diocese.

On August 19, 2017 Sr. Arsenia Estrada, our Provincial Superior, had her 7 days visit to our community. We were grateful for her presence and it gave us also the opportunity to meet and pay respect to the Archbishop of Taipei Most Rev. John Shan-Chuan Hung, Bishop of Hsinchu Diocese Most Rev. John Baptist Keh-Mean Lee, the Parish Priest of St. Joseph Parish in Luzhou Rev. Fr. John Baptist Tri Tai Nguyen, the Rector of TCRS Rev. Fr. Joseph Thang Long Tran and Migrants’ Chaplain of Hsinchu Diocese Rev. Fr. Christopher Kaamino, SSC.

Recently, two important feasts of the congregation were celebrated in the presence of the Filipino communities, together with some friends and benefactors - the Feast of Mary Mother of the Good Shepherd and the 79th Foundation Anniversary of our Congregation.

Since the beginning of this Apostolic Year the Sisters began implementing programs for the Spiritual Formation of the Filipino Communities in Luzhou as well as in Nankan such as Pre-sacramental Catechesis, Giving Inputs, Spiritual Direction & Counselling, Liturgical Animation, and the like. The said Filipino communities have recently engaged into other significant events such as celebration of the Birthday of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Month of the Rosary, Legion Congress, 100th Year of Fatima, Pilgrimages and other activities.

Today, the challenge is set before us, as to all the Catholic missionaries in Taiwan: Preserve the Catholic faith and bring others closer to Christ. The Pastorelle, who cares as mother and teacher, hopefully will make a difference in the life of the people of Taiwan.

It is very inspiring to see the Pastorelle apostolate blooming in this young community of Taiwan. Dear sisters, I join your thanksgiving prayer for your relevant presence in this land. The sisters' smile are given back by the people's smile. Blessings to your collaboration with the Bishop, priests and people.
