It has been six months now since I came back to Australia in January 2017 to join anew our Sisters in this part of the world. In February, I commenced my pastoral involvement at Loyola College, Watsonia, as College-Home-Parish Liaison. As Pastorelle Sisters, we have journeyed with this College community for a number of years now with Sr Rita Ruzzene and Sr Nelia Llanto who preceded me.
Having coordinated with the College’s Religious Education Department, we organized the Sacramental Program for the year and on Tuesday, 18 July 2017, we had a beautiful Eucharistic celebration and Rite of Welcoming of Confirmation Candidates for the six Loyola students who have started their preparation.
The celebration was held at Loyola College’s St Ignatius Chapel and Fr Michael O’Connell, who was the main presider, made the whole celebration truly meaningful for these students with their families and sponsors.
Being a Catholic College under the patronage of St Ignatius of Loyola, the Principal, Mr Joe Favrin, his Deputy Principals and all the Staff, are fully committed to ensuring that this identity remains strong and is passed on to the new generations. As Pastorelle Sisters, who have pastoral care at the heart of our vocation, we are privileged to cooperate towards the realisation of the College’s vision and mission.

What joy to see how the college seeks to cater for the total person, welcoming, journeying and celebrating the different steps in the faith journey.
