“Each Christian and every community must discern the path that the Lord points out,
but all of us are asked to obey His call to go forth from our own comfort zone in order to reach the
“peripheries” in need of the light of the Gospel.” (Evangelii Gaudium p. 24)
The Postulancy Community was composed of Sisters Lily Ann Santos, Lucy Gocotano, Marylin Delalamon and Postulant Cyrel Peralta at the start of the apostolic year in June 2013-2014, until Sr. Revelina Blanca joined on October 15, 2013 after her perpetual profession. Although the community is meant to be a formative one, aside from the particular areas of responsibilities and ministries assigned to us, each Sister within her capacity tries to respond as need arises, not only to the concerns of the bigger community of Jesus Good Shepherd School, but also to the call for pastoral presence in the two neighboring parishes in Cavite. They are the Parish of St. James the Greater, Buhay na Tubig in Imus and the Immaculate Conception Parish in Naic.
Weak and imperfect we may be, the Lord who called us to share our life together in this community never failed to allow us experienced His tremendous love and mercy transcending all our weaknesses. It is but fitting therefore, that we give back to Him the honor and praise for the gift of our Community of the Postulancy.
“I am most thankful second to God, for my Sisters in the community for allowing me so much space and understanding--the warm atmosphere and support I needed to accept my journey in faith, particularly, what the exaltation of the cross deeply mean in my life. Truly, there’s nothing that God permits that is to be rejected. Even sickness and the most embarrassing, painful experiences of the past were all God’s precious gifts gradually purifying me to become the person I am meant to be for all eternity.
Indeed, how blessed I am! Help me Lord, to become a blessing too, not only to my religious family, but to many others you send me to love and cherish each day along the way.” (Sr. Lily Ann)
“As full time Sister-in-Charge of JGSS ITRC (Instructional Technology Resource Center), my energy is usually exhausted by the end of the day. I thank the Lord for my community that makes no added demands from me, save for what will help me grow in passing on to others, especially to those in my area of responsibility, the same care and love I receive from my community.
Lord, you know how limited my knowledge and strength are, but I want to learn and explore more in order to be of better service to those you’ve given me to care for in this ministry.” (Sr. Lucy)
“I celebrate and bless the Lord for the years I experienced fraternal life made flesh among us, members of this community. Despite our individual differences and idiosyncrasies, the commitment of each Sister to go beyond her own limits and vulnerabilities, offering one’s own fragility by walking an extra mile with and for each other, while sincerely celebrating together each other’s giftedness, can only be attributed to the grace of God undoubtedly at work in each of us.
Thanks to the quality of relationship we have in you, Jesus our Good Shepherd in the Eucharist. Grant that we may continue to walk together as a community with the eyes of faith toward the same goal of living our pastoral life to the full until Christ is formed in each of us.” (Sr. May)
“I have learned to tolerate with gentleness and care the misdemeanor of some students as how I observe it witnessed by some of our Sisters. Edified by their outlook in life as they share their own stories of joy, pain and difficulties, I have become more positive in accepting my reserve personality, to be even thankful at times to realize how essential it is for a religious to know how to set boundaries.
Grant Lord, that I may love fully not only the Sisters I am living with who helped me become a better person, but that I may truly become a mother and a sister to all.” (Sr. Revelyn)
“I thought all my exposures to the different ministries in JGSS to the Kindergarten pupils, HS Club, accounting office, school canteen and parish first communicants, all have its proper place, until I was sent to the Community of Digos, Davao del Sur. With another style of life and ministries I met entirely different from my school exposures, my whole system was shaken. I did not know how to respond. I was challenged and tested. With trembling knees, I had no recourse but to move little by little out of my comfort zones, from my old life to the new one--new people, place, new explorations filled with a lot of preoccupations in mind and other security concerns. Finally, I realized I have only to fully depend and trust God.
Nobody knows me through and through but you, Lord. Please help my unbelief. Make me cling to nothing and no one but you, Jesus, my Good Shepherd.” (Postulant Cyrel)

I was once a member of the community and had my best years wherein I experienced the love of a true family. Keep it up and may God be with you.
