Last November 24, 2012, through the invitation of the Archbishop of Taipei, Taiwan, Most Rev. John Hung, SVD, Sr. Jessica Aglavia gave an input to 21 seminarians from the different Dioceses of Taiwan, gathered at the Major Seminary of Taipei, with topic: “Becoming an Acolyte and its Liturgical Meaning”.

The sharing was an opportunity for her put into practice the Mandarin Chinese language. Likewise, it was also an affirmation that our Congregation, our pastoral presence is needed in the Local Church of Taiwan. The Rector of the Seminary requested Sr. Jessica to continue the pastoral formation of the seminarians.

Through that event, the door is starting to open for us here in Taiwan because the Archbishop of Taipei invited us to be part of the Liturgical Commission of the Archdiocese of Taipei. We had our first meeting last November 21, 2012 at the Archbishop’s office, presided by Archbishop Hung himself.

We believe that whatever little good we are able to sow now, are fruits of each sister’s prayers and sacrifices offered for us to fulfill the Father’s will that our Congregation may take root in this land of our Chinese brothers and sisters.

We as a community, thank each of you for your enduring prayers and sacrifices, so that the Lord’s work begun in us may be accomplished according to the Father’s plan for his people of China. Let us continue to pray for one another so that the flock which the Lord has entrusted to our care may find and feel in each of us and among us, a humble, simple and silent presence like that of Mary, Mother of the Good Shepherd.

Congratulations Jessica. I feel proud of you, already doing the ministry in Mandarin. It is indeed a gift to belong to an international congregation. God bless.
